Gently Used Policies

Used diapering products and used maternity clothing have different policies so please read the appropriate section before bringing your items in to the store. The main difference is that you receive credit (no cash paid) on the spot for diapers but you have to wait until your maternity clothing sells to get credit or cash.

Some used items are listed on the website, but the best selection is always in store. We reserve the right to sell your items through any of our online shops (ZoomBabyGear.com, etsy, Hyena Cart, ebay, craigslist etc.) or through our retail store.

Used Diaper Trade In Policies

  1. Limit of 12 items per person per month. Prefolds count as 6/1; i.e. one dozen prefolds equals 2 items toward the limit. Inserts count as 1 item each unless they are assembled with another item; i.e. pocket diaper with insert counts as 1 item.
  2. Trade ins are subject to space available. We reserve the right to refuse items.
  3. Reusable cloth diapers and accessories only; no clothes, slings, gear or toys at this time.
  4. Items should be functional; no leaky covers or torn diapers. Use the sun to remove stains if possible. Do not bleach your items.
  5. Store credit is offered after calculating the value of your items. In general, we pay $1 for prefolds, $3-$5 for covers, $3-$5 for fitted diapers and $5-$8 for pocket diapers and all in ones.
  6. We do not accept the following brands: Bum Genius, gDiapers, Gerber, Dappi or anything with vinyl. We may refuse other brands as well.
  7. You must bring your items to our Portland store.  No trade-ins via mail.
  8. Store credit only. Store credit must be used in store within 1 year. No cash paid.
  9. Store credit is transferable to another local resident for use in store. You must provide the name and phone number of the new recipient.
  10. We reserve the right to change our policies at any time without prior notice.

Pass them on to a friend
Donate them to Miracle Diapers for distribution to low income families
Freecycle them
Sell them on Craigslist or Diaperswappers

Used Clothing Consignment Policies
You will be asked to sign a contract when you
bring your items to the store.

1. Number of selling days:

If after 90 days the merchandise has not sold and has not been picked up by the consignor (you), the merchandise becomes the sole property of the retail store. All unclaimed merchandise may donated to charity.  Items may be reclaimed near the end of the 90-day consignment period. It is your responsibility to inquire about your consignment account. We do not call when an item is sold or before it is donated.

2. Merchandise requirements:

Please bring items in excellent condition, in season, current styles, pressed and on hangers.

3. Receipt of merchandise:

You may bring your items in during any store open hours. If we are busy assisting other customers you may need to leave your items and we will go through them later.

4. Payment to the consignor:

Consignors are paid monthly and may contact the store at the beginning of each month for their current account balance. The retailer will determine selling prices on merchandise, based on current prices and the prices of new, similar goods. The consignor’s percentage on each item is as follows:

    Store Credit: 60% of selling price

    Check: 50% of selling price

5. Pricing:

 Merchandise is priced and is discounted at our discretion. We cannot guarantee pricing.

6. Responsibility of merchandise:

Zoom Baby Gear is not responsible for theft or damage to merchandise while on the premises.
