Catalog > Diaper Covers Diaper covers are the water resistant outer layer of your diaper system. Use a cover over fitted, contour or prefold diapers to protect clothing and surfaces from wetness. Any cover can leak if the diaper underneath isn't changed frequently enough. For best results, change your baby's diaper every time they go. You can usually re-use diaper covers several times unless they are soiled. See our night time selections for covers that can go the distance when you can't change as often. Your diaper covers will last longer and look better if you wash them separately from your diapers with a warm wash cycle and hang dry. How many? Since covers can usually be re-used, figure 4-6 per child. In the newborn & small sizes, allow for extra covers, 6-8 is a good range. There's more at the store!
