Catalog > DIY Supplies I started Zoom Baby Gear way back in the beginning by sewing my daughter's diapers. There weren't many resources available then, so I had to figure out much of it on my own. I made all my own patterns for my daughter, and then expanded the size range and produced Zoom Baby Gear label products for years. I only make a few things for sale now, like fleece diaper covers and clothes, but I want to help anyone who has the desire to get started sewing their own cloth diapers. You can save money by making your own cloth diapers. You can get exactly what you want by making your own cloth diapers. You can get a custom fit by making your own cloth diapers. Email me at info@zoombabygear.com if you want FREE instruction sheets on making your own cloth diapers, all styles. No sewing experience is necessary! I have watched men and women who have never sewn AT ALL successfully sew their own cloth diapers and some even have gone on to sew them well enough to sell them. The techniques are not that difficult and as long as you are using the proper materials, your custom diapers will probably work fine. I recommend making about six diapers to start. This will give you an idea if you love making your own cloth diapers, or if the process is so tedious you can't bear to do it. Making one or two is not enough to really get the feel of it. Most people get an amazing feeling of accomplishment by making their own reusable diapers. And you can save a lot of money on some styles when you make your own. COMING SOON: Diaper Fabrics for sale How to save money sewing your own cloth diapers Many companies offer diaper sewing patterns and instructions. These are a few that I like: One of my favorite sites is VeryBaby. This family company has been offering cloth diaper sewing supplies, patterns and tutorials since 2002. They offer a great selection and personal service. Wazoodle is another great company where I have purchased diaper sewing fabric. They are located in Canada, so shipping costs can be high, but it is worth it. Wazoodle offers a full line of supplies, including precut cloth diaper fabrics that are ready to sew - no worries about the pattern or cutting the fabric! Other companies that offer kits include Kayla's Cloth Kits, Doo Doo Rags, DiaperKit and DiaperFab from WallyPop. A kit is NOT necessary for good success however. I have seen many moms learn to sew diapers from scratch no problem. If you are a little nervous, however, a kit may be a good option for you. Step by step instructions can be found on many sites with tutorials like Squidoo or YouTube. Or you can visit one of the many helpful diaper sewing forums like the one on Mothering.com or Diaper Sewing Divas. CLEARANCE ITEMS:
